Road Engineering and Construction
Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma
The Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma of Road Engineering and Construction are designed to broaden the skills and knowledge gained in engineering undergraduate courses, as well as to provide specialist skills and knowledge in areas including route assessment, condition assessment and pavement design and stabilization.
Roads and pavements form a large component of the national investment in infrastructure, and there is increasing appreciation of the need for efficient design and construction to minimize the long-term lifecycle costs, including operation, maintenance, management and renewal of these major physical assets. This increases the demand for technical specialists with road engineering skills, and career opportunities exist with State governments, larger local authorities, private civil and mining companies, contracting, consulting and regulatory organizations.
The courses aim to provide place-bound professional engineers in public works and industry positions with access to modern tools to efficiently design and construct durable roads and highways.
